Bobby O'Neal Ramage

March 20, 1939 — January 31, 2018

Bobby O’Neal Ramage, 78 years old, of Mayfield, KY passed on 31 January 2018.  Bobby was a former life-long resident of Tiline, KY where he was born and raised to adult-hood.

Bobby served in the United States Army from 1960-1966. He received basic training in Fort Knox, KY and then activated during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was sent to Fort Stewart, GA where he had Guerrilla Warfare training and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant.  He received many military awards with high honors during his time at Fort Stewart. He was a Kentucky Colonel and worked at SKW Alloy (now, named CC Metal Alloy) of Calvert City, KY for 30 years as a Gas/Diesel Mechanic and Chairman of the Safety Committee for the local UAW chapter. He was a certified electrician and plumber, technician for HVAC Systems, and worked in carpentry.  Bobby was a member of Cumberland Valley General Baptist Church in Tiline, KY.  He volunteered his time performing maintenance duties in the church, as well as beautifying it with interior trim woodwork. He was a board member of the Cumberland View Apartments Board; Livingston County Senior Citizen Rest Home Board; and Leeper Cemetery Board. His hobbies included building and restoring antique cars, tractors, and lawn-mowers.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois Buford Ramage.  Together they have three daughters;      La Tresa Darlene (Ramage) Badger and husband Dr. Charles R. Badger (Chad) of Mayfield, KY; Tammee Delane (Ramage) Heater and husband Carl R. Heater Jr. of Madison, AL; and Kristi Shanee’ (Ramage) Watson and husband Brad E. Watson of Harvest, AL.  They have six grandchildren; Charles R. Badger Jr. (Chance) and wife Erinn (Crane) Badger of Athens, AL; Julia Rhea Badger of Chicago, IL. ; Blair Delane Heater and fiancé Brandon Morris of Madison, AL.; Brook Tamara Heater of Madison, AL; Kai Everett Watson and Keaton O’Neal Watson both of Harvest, AL.; and one great-grandchild, Elaina Michelle Badger.  Bobby has one brother, Orville F. Ramage and his wife Bessie Ann of Tiline, KY and two sisters-in-law Carnelia Ramage of Salem, KY and Iris Ann Ramage of Tiline, KY. along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Lilburn (Mule) Ramage and Odar Mae Doom Ramage; and two brothers, Cleveland Ramage and Eddie Ramage.

Services will be Saturday, February 3 2018 at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland, KY with visitation from 12:00-2:00pm.  The funeral service will begin at 2:00pm with the burial following at Cothran Cemetery.  Officiating is Dr. Wesley Fowler and Dr. Chad Badger.
