Hugh Doom
March 20, 1936 — February 27, 2014
Hugh Doyle Doom, 77, of Grand Rivers passed away on Thursday February 27, 2014 at Springlake Nursing and Rehab in Salem.
Mr. Doom was a retired loader/operator from Vulcan Materials.
He loved to spend time with his friends drinking coffee and talking at the store.
Surviving are one son, Hugh Alan (Susan) Doom of Lake in The Hills, IL; one daughter, Sylvia (Tim) Doyle of Ledbetter; four brothers, Louie Doom of Smithland, Teddy Doom of Grand Rivers, Willis Doom of Marion; and Holland Doom of Smithland; three grandchildren, Danielle Doyle of Ledbetter, Allison Doyle of Ledbetter; Colby Doom of Lake in The Hills, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norvin W. Doom and Edra M (Johnson) Doom; two brothers, Courtney Doom, Loye Doom; and two sisters Charles Marie Timmons, Melvia Nadine Doom; and one niece and nephew.
Service will be at 1:00pm on Sunday at the Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bennie Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at the Groves Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
