James Wallace (Smithland) Greer

James “Jim” Greer, age 81, passed away on December 26 ^th , 2021, at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY. In his life, James was a University Administrator at Murray State University and Missouri State University. James was also a member of the Masons. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, and genealogy.

James is survived by his wife, Patsy Greer; his son, Tim (Allison) Greer; and his grandchildren, Hunter Greer and Sophia Greer.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Truman Greer, and his brother, Tony Oldham.

Services will be held on Wednesday December 29 ^th , 2021. Visitation will be held from 11 AM – 1 PM, with Masonic rights and a service starting at 12:45 PM. Brother Danny will be officiating the service.

Smith Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
