James Larry Smith

James Larry Smith of Tiline, Kentucky, passed away on Monday March 11, 2019 at Livingston County Hospital at the age of 81.

Mr. Smith worked in the telephone industry and retired from GTE. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served 2 years in post war Korea. He was a member of the Smithland Masonic Lodge #138.  He was of the Methodist Faith and grew up attending Livingston Chapel Church. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcat basketball fan and enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing and most of all spending time with his friends and family.

Mr. Smith is survived by two daughters:  Jeana Gray of Woodruff, South Carolina and Jewell Wyatt of Tyler Texas and one son, Larry Lewis Smith (Kelly) of Greer, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Erica (Joe Don) Doom, Cheyenne Gray, Laura May Baley, Wesley Wyatt, Austin Lawrence, and Alexandria Smith; one great grandson Daniel Clay Wyatt Perrine.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Londa Smith.

Funeral services with Masonic rites will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Smith Funeral Chapel located at 319 East Adair Street, Smithland, Kentucky, 42081 with the burial to follow at Ferguson Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family from 12:00pm to the hour of service on Saturday at the Smith Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
