Bob Wood, age 67, of Smithland, passed away at 10:00p.m. Monday May 4th, 2015 at his home.
For 40 years Bob owned and operated Wood Built Construction Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War era, and was of the Baptist faith. Bob loved his children and grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his former wife of 26 years, Brenda Lee Wood of Smithland; one daughter, Christy Watkins of Grand Rivers; three sons, Jamie Wood of Grand Rivers, Shane Wood of Smithland, and Dustin Wood and his wife Kayla of Smithland; five grandchildren, Austin Watkins, Kayla Wood, Cole Wood, Landon Wood, and Sydnie Wood; mom, Gladys Ringstaff Wood of ledbetter; mother and step father, Mike and Emma Santiago of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; one brother, Paul Clayton of Milwaukee, one sister, Peggy (Bob) Moore of Milwaulkee; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Wood; and a brother, Bill Wood.
Funeral services for Bob will take place at 3pm, Friday May 8th, 2015 at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland with Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. Military Honors will follow at the funeral Home which will be conducted by members of the 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Ky. Burial will take place at a later date.
Bobs family will receive friends from 5pm until 8pm Thursday, May 7th, 2015 at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland, Ky.
