Jane Demery
b. September 8, 1941
Jane Kirkham Demery, 68 of Paducah, formerly of Smithland, died Thursday at Lourdes Hospital.
Mrs. Demery was a retired Monitor Technician with Lourdes Hospital and served as Worthy Grand Matron for the Grand Chapter of Kentucky, Order of the Eastern Star (1983-84); a Kentucky Colonel, a Duchess of Paducah and a member of Smithland United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, James B. Demery of Kuttawa; five sisters, Louise Brownie Johnson of Ellijay, GA, Jean Vick of Springfield, MO, Sue Maxfield of Paducah and Linda Kirkham and Donna Smith of Smithland; two brothers, Phil and Wayne Kirkham of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Edith Kirkham, one brother, Howard Jake Kirkham and one sister, Lois Mitchell.
Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland. Burial will be at Scotts Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Monday and after 9:00am Tuesday at the funeral home.
