Janice Alsobrook Rogers peacefully went to be with her Lord Sunday July 13, 2014 at 1:35 p.m.
Born in Detroit Michigan, July 18, 1938 she soon made her childhood home in Burna Ky. Janice was a model of a Godly Christian mother, grandmother, great grandmother and wife. She knew how to display her love for her family in many ways. From her youth, she was involved in church work that include teacher, WMU leader, and pastors wife.
Other qualities included seamstress, cooking, canning, entertaining, decorating, and merchandising. She retired from the gift shops at Patti's in Grand Rivers.
She is survived by a daughter, Janie Rogers Thomasson of Paducah. A son, Jesse (Paula) Rogers of Ledbetter. A grandson, Matthew Thomasson of Boaz. A granddaughter, Jennifer Rogers of Ledbetter. Two great granddaughters, Elizabeth and Madalyn Thomasson of Boaz. Three sisters, Donna K Beaven of Evansville IN, Mary L(Charles) Cleveland, Holbrook AZ, Paula B(Gary) Williams, Harrisburg IL. A brother, David P. Alsobrook(Joanne) of Sharpe. Sister in Law, Judy Alsobrook of Sharpe. Several nieces and nephews with special mention of Connie(Tim) Turner of Benton, Tammie Alsobrook, Boken Arrow OK. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Rev. David E Rogers, a brother Daniel B. Alsobrook, brother in law Charles E Beaven. Her parents were Paul B and Eddie Bea Alsobrook of Burna Ky.
Services will be conducted Wed. July 16, 2014 at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland Ky. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with the service at 1 p.m. Bro. Kenneth Puckett, Bro. Justin Mason will officiate. Burial will be at Smithland Cemetery.
