Jewell Holmes

Jewell Holmes, 90, of Smithland, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Holmes was a World War II Navy Veteran, lifetime member of the American Legion and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Smithland.

He is survived by his wife, Viva Condra Holmes of Smithland; one son, Ronald Homes of Deerfield, Fl; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one daughter; one sister; and three brothers. His parents were Charlie Holmes and Bluet Elizabeth Cornwell.

Funeral service with military honors will be Monday, March 9, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Smith Funeral Chapel with Rev. Darvin Stom officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Friends may call on Monday, March 9, 2015 from 11:00 am to funeral hour at Smith Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Baptist Church 1274 Iuka Road, Smithland, KY 42081.
