Kenneth Chestnut, 77, of Smithland passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Chestnut was a retired machinist from ICG Railroad and a member of Potter House Worship Center.  He loved hunting, fishing and listing to gospel music.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen Chestnut of Smithland; two daughters, Kim Cunningham and DeAnn Allen both of Smithland; one sister, Ann Ramage of Tiline; three grandchildren, Kendra James,  Tara Joiner, and Chris Allen; one step-son, Glenn New; one step-daughter, Lynn Rodgers; and three step-grandchildren, Keaton New, Josh Day and Jenna Rodgers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Beatrice “Billy” Chestnut and one brother, Lefty Keith Chestnut.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Smith Funeral Chapel with Bro. Fred Lowrance officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Ledbetter.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, Sept 6, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Chestnuts honor may be made to the Kendall James Fund at CFSB Bank in Grandrivers.
