Larry Brantley Champion Sr.

Larry Brantley Champion Sr., 77, of Smithland passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Mr. Champion was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Smithland Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the VFW.

Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Janice Champion of Smithland; one daughter, Lateisha (David) Hardin of Paducah; one son, Brantley Champion of Smithland; two sisters, Dora (Marlyn) Miley of Hutsonville, IL and Terry (Larry) Rogers of Hendersonville, TN; one brother, C.B. Champion of Paducah; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Dorothy Champion; and one sister, Joan Ramage.

Funeral services will be at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Brian Hodge officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Scott’s Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family from 11:00am to service hour on Thursday at the funeral home.
