Michael Loyal Tracy, a beloved father, friend, and skilled mechanic, passed away peacefully at his home in West Paducah, Kentucky, on September 12, 2024. Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Bill and Carolyn Tracy, Mike grew up on the family farm in Tiline, Kentucky, and spent his early years working alongside his father at their Phillips 66 service station in Grand Rivers, Kentucky. Mike was of Baptist faith.
Throughout his career, Mike dedicated himself to his craft as a forklift mechanic, running his own business before joining Central Florida Equipment. His skills in fixing almost anything earned him a great reputation among those who knew him.
A true car enthusiast, Mike took great pride in his blue Chevelle and was a familiar face at car shows and racing events. His generous spirit, combined with his sarcastic sense of humor, endeared him to all who knew him. Mike’s willingness to lend a hand to help others and his deep love for his family and friends were the hallmarks of his life.
After recently retiring, Mike relocated back to Kentucky, where he spent time with his family and rekindled friendships. He is survived by his four sons: Shannon (Tori Elrod) of Tampa, FL; Aaron (Kristin) of West Paducah, KY; Michael (Emily) of Titusville, FL; and Joshua (Ariel Ridenour) of Titusville, FL. He is also survived by his father, Bill Tracy (Judy Hodge) of Salem, KY; Cousin, Brenda Cooper of Paducah, KY; and many close friends including Dewey, Danny, Kevin, John, Sam and Todd.
Mike was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Shaina Michelle Tracy; his mother, Carolyn Johnson-Tracy; his maternal grandparents, Raleigh “Dinks” and Edith Mae Johnson; and his paternal grandparents, Loyal and Lois Tracy.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the first responders at the West McCracken Fire Department, Mercy Regional Ambulance, and the McCracken County Coroner’s Office for their compassion and support.
A memorial service to celebrate Mike’s life will be announced over the coming days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests your sharing of personal memories or contribution in memoriam to your local humane society or pet rescue.
