Truman Clarence Hastings

July 5, 1943 — January 22, 2025

Grand Rivers

Truman C. Hastings, 81, of Grand Rivers, met his heavenly reward on Wednesday afternoon, January 22, 2025 while at Vanderbilt University Hospital of Nashville, Tn.

Truman was an avid trapper all his life and enjoyed that hobby well into his retirement. Truman was a retired self employed roofer his whole career. His two best things to do in his life were to be the best husband he could be to his loving bride of 49 years, Linda, who he cared for from every turn of life. The other activity he never waivered from was spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you met Truman, somewhere in the conversation you would be asked if Jesus was part of your life. Truman was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church of Grand Rivers.

Truman is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda; two children; Shalin Prince of Benton, and James Lassiter of Mo.; one brother, Ray Joe Hastings of Doniphan, Mo.; and two grandchildren, Kristen Domke, and Ronnie Lassiter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Anderson Hastings and Hazel Marie Hackworth Hastings; six brothers and sisters.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, January 26th, 2025 starting at 2pm at Sugar Creek Baptist Church in Grand Rivers, Ky. Brother Wayne Jones will be officiating. A family meal by the church will follow service.

Lindsey Funeral Home is in charge of services. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lindseyfuneral.com
