Virginia (New) Williams

Virginia (Nene) New Williams, 85, of Smithland passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Livingston County Hospital and Health Care Services.

Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church in Smithland. In her spare time she helped raise her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time outside in the garden, and spending time with her family. She had a special love and passion for all animal.

Surviving is one brother, Fred (Georgette) New of Eddyville; four sisters, Grace (Buddy) Tincher of Green Castle, IN, Stella (Barry) Potts of Tiline, Becky Brindley of Smithland, and Judy Newton of Grandrivers.

She was preceded in death her husband, Bob Williams; tow brother, Bill New and Ralph New; two sisters, Gretta New Cotton and Linda Jill New. Her parents were Charles and Evelyn New.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Shawn Vandergriff officiating. Cremation will follow.

Friends may call from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
